For the job of Personal Support Worker, we are hiring overseas candidates. The applicant will be working under the direction and supervision of medical professionals, administering medication (if qualified), monitoring and informing the Care Manager of the client's condition, providing transportation, cleaning the house, maintaining personal hygiene, preparing meals, and performing other tasks pertaining to health and wellness. The Personal Care Worker will show a dedication to best-practice care and make sure that all in-home care is delivered in compliance with corporate policy and procedures in a kind and polite manner.

You will:

- Assist in providing direct care for residents such as administering bedside and personal care, bathing, personal hygiene, and dressing and undressing.
 
- Assist with dinning services and support residents in eating their meals with the consideration of special diets.
 
- May perform routine health-related duties, if needed, which may include changing of non-sterile dressings, collecting specimens under general supervision of RN.
 
- Perform routine housekeeping duties such as making beds and tiding residents’ common areas.
 
- Provide emotional and social support to residents/families, including palliative care.
 
- Work with multi-disciplinary team members to meet the needs of residents.

Requirements

The ideal candidates will have the following qualifications and skills:
 

- PSW Program Certificate or Diploma that meets the appropriate standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, the National Association of Career Colleges, or the Ontario Community Support Association.
 
- First Aid Certificate, CPR certificate.
 
- At least 12 months of experience working in a similar environment.
 
- Has passion and serving heart for providing quality care.
 
- Knowledge and experience in care planning systems and documentation required.
 
- Ability to communicate positively with other staff, residents, and families.
 
- Good English Language skills.
