The Plater-Welder Training Program
Nestled in the heart of Kuopio, our modern and well-equipped premises at Savilahti Campus will be your training ground. The program, spanning 2-3 years, not only imparts theoretical knowledge but also places a strong emphasis on hands-on experience. As a plater-welder, you'll find yourself working on diverse projects, from welding and modifying metal sheets to crafting intricate steel structures for machinery, buildings, and vehicles.

The application period is from 14 February to 28 February 2024. If you're passionate about this opportunity, ensure you meet the following criteria:
- High school or general school-leaving certificate
- Proficient in English
- Good IT skills
- Physically and mentally fit for the mechanical engineering and production technology industry
- At least 18 years old

Application Procedure:
1. Motivational Video: Create a 2-minute video introducing yourself and answering key questions about why you want to pursue this training in Finland.
2. Duolingo English Test: Achieve a minimum score of 85 on the Duolingo English Test. Results take 48 hours to verify, so plan accordingly.
3. Attachments and Certificates: Prepare necessary documents (certificates of studies, work certificates, motivational video link, Duolingo certificate) in PDF or JPG format.
4. Application Form: Fill out the application form correctly. Note that revisions are not allowed, so ensure all documents are ready.
5. Preliminary Test: Take the preliminary test measuring skills in mathematics, physics, geometry, and logical reasoning by 28 February 2024.
6. Microsoft Teams Interview: If selected, attend a Teams interview during weeks 11–12. The interview assesses your application, video, and test performance.
7. Student Selection: Successful applicants will be informed by email in early April 2024 based on their application, interview, language test, and preliminary test results.
Selected candidates will commence their studies on 2 September 2024. The program, taught during the day, accommodates personal competence development plans and real-world applications.

Financial Details:
- Material Fee: A one-time payment of 250 euros covers welding equipment, safety gear, measuring tools, qualification cards, texts, and materials.
