During Gangway Operations and the screening procedure, the Security Guard is in charge of managing shipboard entrance. The Security Guard will enforce the Master's Rules and Regulations and patrol the ship both during the day and at night. While serving as a Response Guard or conducting the ship's safety rounds, he or she is supervised by the Watchkeeping Officer.
