GRAPHICS DESIGN INTERN | REMOTE

CALSTART has an immediate opening for a highly motivated person to join our team as a Digital Graphic Designer Intern for Marketing and Outreach. The ideal candidate will play an important role in supporting high-impact clean transportation projects. This includes the development and implementation of strategic graphic design and social media marketing and outreach content for Voucher Incentive Programs


Additionally, the Graphic Design Intern will:

  • Design brochures, logos, reports, advertisements, and digital materials.

  • Create these materials using technology, including computer software programs. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite—including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and more—is a plus.

  • Proficient in creating graphics for videos, gif’s, and digital marketing collateral.

  • Help design creative decks/presentations/and curated content for CCTU broadcast, video marketing/promotions, social media, and email campaigns.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and outreach skills and experience in supporting digital marketing strategies that inform targeted audiences, promote meaningful engagement, and result in successful program participation. The candidate will have strong interpersonal, written and spoken communication skills; experience supporting innovative educational and marketing programs; great team-working skills; solid understanding of and experience with multimedia use for effective outreach; and a proven track record of facilitating successful digital marketing and outreach campaigns and events. Successful candidates must have a positive “can do” attitude and strive to learn and grow. The ideal candidate will be in their junior year of above towards a bachelor’s degree (preferably in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications) and at least 1 year of class project/internship experience in marketing and/or graphic design; content and collateral development; and social media. The ideal candidate must work well in a team environment, display personal initiative, thrive in public-engagement settings, and be driven by a passion for the clean transportation industry.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and project management abilities;

  • Demonstrate initiative and multi-task in a fast-paced environment;

  • High proficiency in communications project management across various stages of development and implementation (planning, execution, monitoring and completion) focusing on collateral development, media campaigns, and online strategy; and

  • Ability to communicate program information to multiple audiences.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications, with a high degree of competence in Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Excel;

  • Experience with Photoshop and Adobe InDesign a plus

  • Experience with creating graphics for social media platforms such as: LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
