BerlinRosen is seeking a highly motivated individual interested in strengthening their visual presentation and graphic design skills for a fast-paced and growing organization. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative designer interested in supporting multiple projects to produce and edit clean, eye-catching, and exceptional designs for a diverse range of prospective clients.
The intern will be integrated into the Growth Team, a dynamic business development and marketing team that drives projects across the full firm, from progressive advocacy campaigns to real estate development to tech to hospitality and more. The team is responsible for supporting firm-wide business strategy, producing internal research and external products like proposals, pitch decks, and visually guiding its marketing and social media efforts.
Our Fall 2022 Internship Program runs from early September 2022 to late December 2022/early January 2023. While interns can be fully remote, our in-office policy for Washington, DC and New York, NY is currently flexible, and proof of full vaccination is required to enter our offices.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
As an intern, you will:
Layout, edit and clean up proposals and presentations while adhering to brand guidelines.
Create graphics for client-facing proposals, pitches, and marketing efforts.
Work across multiple design softwares such as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects
Knowledge of Google Slides for laying out presentations and proposals (including mocking up social media graphics and creating design templates.
Conduct photo research and editing.
Collaborate with the Art Director and Designer to develop creative design concepts.
Essential skills:
An eye for design: you love to interpret complex ideas visually through color, photography, and typography
Detail-oriented: you dot every ‘i’, change every inch mark on a smart quote, and double-check design content end-to-end from a footmark to an apostrophe
Adaptable and flexible: you’re comfortable asking questions to understand concepts and interpret directions visually; you think of critiques as learning opportunities and negative feedback as an exciting problem-solving challenge
Ready for fast-pace: you can stay calm under pressure or when you need to change priorities to meet a last-minute deadline quickly
Expert multitasker: you show up ready to support multiple projects at once and with a strong self-organization system that keeps you on top of all deadlines
Knowledge of the tools needed to execute: you’re skilled at Adobe Creative Suite from Photoshop, Illustrator to After Effects, Google docs, and Google Slides to bring you or the team's vision to life. You know how to create and work with templates that are simple, beautiful, and easy to use
A strong collaborator: you’re comfortable communicating with team members to understand their directions and interpret them visually; you think of critiques as learning opportunities and negative feedback as an exciting problem-solving challenge
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Interns must be able to work 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, on a roughly 9-to-5 Eastern Time schedule. Please do not apply if you cannot meet this requirement.
Compensation: $17 / hour
