Karyosoft Inc. is looking for a Genomics intern to help build our leading-edge genomics data management platform. The intern will work closely with Karyosoft scientists in an agile environment to understand needs and implement bioinformatics pipelines using modern technologies. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to experience the start-up culture and learn the latest data science technologies (Cloud Computing, NoSQL, etc.). The selected candidate will work remotely with flexible timings.
Qualifications/Required Skills:
Students/graduates from a BS/MS/Ph.D. program in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science or related fields
Excellent programming skills in Python
Working knowledge of bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g. BLAST, Genbank)
Excellent communication skills and ability to learn and work independently when necessary
Desired Skills:
Experience with BioPython is a plus
Experience with Next Generation Sequencing data analysis tools (e.g. velvet, bowtie) is a plus
Design, develop, and deploy connection of Loci to business intelligence/visualization tools like Microsoft Power BI and Tableau
