Our mission is to build an all-in-one cloud-based platform that empowers pharmacists to schedule, document, and manage clinical services at scale. Our clients include the 2 largest pharmacy chains in Canada, servicing 3000+ pharmacies, and powering over ~14M patient service, including playing a critical role across the country throughout the pandemic by helping schedule millions of COVID-19 vaccines.
We have raised over $3.7M USD to date including from M12 (Microsoft's Venture Fund), MaRS IAF, and Y-Combinator. We're a fully remote company with headquarters in Toronto, and employees distributed across the world.
We're building on our rapid growth and role throughout the pandemic to take our modular platform to the next level; providing community pharmacies of all sizes and geographies the transformative technology to service high-quality care experiences and accessible healthcare offerings to their patients.
For Spring 2022, we're looking for an awesome Design Intern - ideally someone with a tremendous growth mindset, passion to make an impact, and ability to wear many hats within a product team. You will be working closely with pharmacists, patients, and business owners alongside our team of dedicated engineers, designers, and entrepreneurs to design and test full features from initial design, to functional release, to user feedback iteration. Given our startup nature, you will have tremendous product autonomy and ownership within your role. We are looking for strong self-starters, project managers, self-learners, and well-rounded communicators.
This is a fully remote role with flexible hours and the opportunity for on-site retreats in Toronto. You can work from anywhere in the world as our team is distributed across the world (eg. France, Nigeria, Bangladesh, California)
As a design intern at MedMe you will:
Be the voice of the user, conduct user research and stakeholder interviews to fully understand customer needs and behaviours
Work closely with the product and engineering team to define requirements and translate them to solutions for new and existing features
Grow your UX craft by applying user centered design techniques and design best practices to create simple and delightful experiences for MedMe pharmacists and patients
Work with the design team to create design artifacts like user journey maps, site maps, personas, design system components, wireframes, low and high fidelity prototypes, user interview plans and more
Communicate designs to project stakeholders and engineers
Learn, have fun, and put your best foot forward, as your role at MedMe will only be limited by your willingness to self-discover new product possibilities and verticals to champion
You will thrive at MedMe if you:
Are familiar with every stage of the product development cycle including: research, concept, design, and evaluate using processes such as journey maps, site maps, wireframes, user-acceptance testing, etc.
Love to own the end to end product design process and work independently on a small team where you will have a lot of impact.
Have experience working closely with a development team using agile practices to produce real-world products as you would be doing at MedMe
Have experience with tools like Figma to produce low/high-fidelity mock-ups and share designs with stakeholders
Are passionate about design excellence and familiar with latest UI components/trends, yet flexible enough to modify designs based on timelines/complexity
Are interested in or have experience working for a healthcare startup where security, reliability, and ease-of-use is the highest priority
Have communication and team working skills- you enjoy suggesting ideas, collaborating internally and externally, providing and receiving feedback, and supporting teammates
Have a portfolio of past design projects (Please include in your application)
And last but certainly not least - you have a sizable appetite for learning and self-development, even if you don't have all of the above requirements, MedMe is a place where you can learn and grow.
Perks and Benefits:
Work remotely with flexible hours, we have an international team that spans the globe. As long as you communicate your timezone you're welcome to work from anywhere!
Work on a small team where you can see the impact of your work everyday.
Join for company paid team lunches and the occasional MedMe retreat (Covid permitting) in the Toronto area :)
