CYBERSECURITY OPERATIONS INTERN | REMOTE

Happify’s IT Security department is continually evolving its capabilities around Security Operations in order to safeguard customer data and meet compliance and certification objectives in the Healthcare industry. The internship will provide hands-on experience in the area of Security Operations which includes, for example: security event monitoring and investigations, threat and vulnerability management, security and IT process reengineering, and researching and testing security technologies and services.

Additionally, the internship will provide knowledge and experience with security standards and regulations pertaining to the Healthcare industry, including:

  • The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

  • The HITRUST CSF (Secure Privacy Framework)

  • The SOC2 (Service Organization Control) standards

  • The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The position would run from approximately June 27th to September 2nd (dates somewhat flexible based on availability) with a stipend of 10,000 paid in three monthly installments. Summer internships have the potential to turn into part- or full-time work into the 2022 academic year. Applications are due by Friday, June 3rd. #LI-Remote

Responsibilities

Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:

  • Working with HR and Compliance resources to automate data collection activities through database queries, software configurations, and API’s

  • Working with various department resources to extract, collate, and analyze identity data with associated system permissions

  • Using the data above, identify associated security gaps and risks for reporting to senior management

  • Working with the Director of Identity and Access Management and the Director of IT Governance, Risk, and Control in support of developing data and reporting for submission to security auditors

  • Assisting in project management including tracking project status, documenting meeting minutes, and both internal and external communications

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

  • Capacity to work remotely and in a fast-paced startup environment

  • General knowledge of Information Technology concepts (e.g., networks, databases, web applications, etc.)

  • Solid skills in creating and using spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets

  • Passionate about having an influence and taking challenges

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Risk Management, or related fields
