We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Hydrogeologist / Water Resource Manager to join our team at our site in Buxton. As a WR Manager, you will support us in the operations and sustainability of our business. We’re looking for someone to manage all aspects of our water resources. We have assessed this role and it could be applicable for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. Some of the key activities will include:


 
• Manage the existing Nestle Waters owned sources within the Buxton Factory to ensure water availability and compliance.
 
• Manage all aspects of WR data acquisition and analysis to support the business in water quality management, supply availability, and environmental performance.
 
• Act as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for Buxton Factory with specified third party stakeholders.
 
• Work with WR engineering team to maintain and optimise existing WT assets and lead the process of investment (CAPEX) in WR/WT.
 
• Liaise directly with NW Europe WR Team as well as other key stakeholders across the business.
 
• Support business sustainability initiatives relating to Water Resources by managing AWS certification and other local catchment improvement projects.
 
• Keep up to date geological and legal information pertinent to the water sources.
 
• Promote Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality compliance and improvement in all aspects of your role.
 

What will make you successful


 
• Ideally you will hold a relevant degree or equivalent in Hydrogeology or a related discipline.
 
• You will be able to demonstrate experience in managing groundwater resources.
 
• Sound knowledge of technical issues related to boreholes, springs and groundwater quality.
 
• Proven ability to critically evaluate results of hydrogeological analyses and reports and give effective and targeted advice on managing complex environmental issues.
 
• Preferably you will have knowledge of UK legislation related to water resources, environmental permitting, water quality and hygiene.
 
• Being able to work and thrive in a complex environment requiring flexibly and agility in managing priorities and stakeholders.
 
• You will be self-starting, flexible and have an adaptable approach to work, with imaginative and practical problem-solving skills.
 
• You need to show credibility and gravitas to influence and engage showing a strong aptitude for creatively finding solutions to problems.
