Who we are looking for

  • Individuals, groups of individuals, or small agencies with an entrepreneurial spirit who provide high-quality, cost-effective video production.

  • Directors / Producers / Videographers who can lead a small team and deliver great outcomes

Who we are not looking for

  • Fixers and assistants who are accustomed to work with the director’s guidance.

  • Videographers who don’t have experience filming interviews and non-actor subjects.

What we'll expect from you

  • Demonstrable experience/portfolio of videos showcasing corporate commercial video work, talking heads style videos.

  • Ability to secure the necessary equipment (rented or owned) to match the minimum technical specifications.

  • Commitment during the onboarding process, to understand our storytelling framework, technical requirements, production process, and best practices for client interactions.

What you can expect from us

Production details

  • 1-2 days of filming, depending on the brief and script.

  • 2-3 speaker interviews.

  • Set of b-rolls (usually around 5-7 scene-setting candid shot sequences, and about 8-10 scripted sequences for solution context).

  • List of equipment (minimum requirements):

  • Camera A+B: color depth 10 or 12 bit (e.g. Sony FS5)

  • Lens set: wide (24-35mm) + portrait (50mm - 85mm) + telephoto (135mm)

  • Lighting: minimum two sources (e.g. LED fill + Dedolight backlight)

  • Grip: tripod, easy rig, shoulder rig, slider.

  • Sound: pin mic + boom mic (optional, but advised).

  • Outcome formats:

  • Video: full HD 1920x1080. 25 FPS for interviews, 50-60 FPS for b-rolls. Neutral color profile.

  • Audio: AAC/WAV

  • Open data delivery:

  • Interviews: separate files - graded pro-res

  • B-rolls: all in one sequence - graded pro-res + export package (e.g. Premier Pro - Project manager)

  • Audio tracks: separate wav files (dialogs, ambient, music).

What does the usual video crew usually look like?

  • Director/producer

  • the person who leads the video crew, making sure that the outcome of the video delivers on the brief and defined standards.

  • This person also usually conducts interviews with customers and sets up the set for the shots.

  • DOP/videographer/camera operator + Fixer/2nd camera operator

  • Able to set up the lights, cameras and fix the sound recording

  • Able to shoot the b-rolls on-premises

What does the process and your involvement look like?

Pre-production

  • Director/producer

  • (optional) attends the interview call with the customer to understand project background.

  • Reviews the brief, and later the script, scopes out the needed crew, equipment, agenda.

  • Coordinates the crews’ arrangement of logistics (access cards with client’s on-premises team, travel, accommodation, lunch, filming permits, e t c).

  • Briefs the crew on expectations and agenda.

Filming

  • Usually, there’s a half day for filming interviews and a half day for filming b-rolls.

  • For video projects, where b-rolls needed are extensive, it is split into two days of filming - one mostly for interviews and scripted scenes, and the next just for candid and scripted scenes.
