An opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated and agile individual to join the Research Information Systems Team in Library Research Support and lead in the development and implementation of processes to increase and enhance user engagement with the systems that the Team provides. We are able to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role.
The successful candidate will lead on the support and training of research information systems users across the academic and support communities. They will have in-depth knowledge of research information systems and the processes surrounding the use of these systems in a university research environment. They will be able to use this knowledge to inform the direction of the service and the development of the systems so as to benefit system users and maximise the University’s investment in its suite of research information systems. They will contribute to the testing of new applications, versions and services to complement existing processes and to work in partnership with users to develop new processes.
They will also lead in maintaining and developing groups and networks of users from professional services across the University.
This 2-year fixed term post is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their knowledge and experience in leading user support for research information systems and supporting research management processes in a world-leading research-intensive University.
Ability to work with a range of academic and professional services systems users
In-depth knowledge of current research processes both within a university and the sector as a whole
Excellent communication skills and the ability to gain the trust of systems users
Proactive, responsive and enthusiastic approach to work
Ability to organise own workload, to work under pressure and meet deadlines
