SUPPORT WORKER NEEDED IN THE UK, SKILLED WORK VISA SPONSORSHIP AND WORK PERMIT AVAILABLE

Applications from candidates who require skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome. We are looking for support workers for our mental health care home. It is a 13-bed home with male and female service users with various mental health diagnoses. There may be opportunities to also work in other care homes within the organisation.

What will I be doing?

• Providing care in accordance with best practice and legislative requirements, policies, and procedures

• Supporting and enabling Service Users to maintain skills and personal interests whilst delivering person-centred care unique to each individual

• Providing personal care to female Service Users including helping them to wash, dress, and use toilet facilities

• Preparing and serving all meals, in a timely manner and in accordance with the service users' needs and preferences

• Doing activities with the service users, within the home, and in the community

• Supporting and enabling Service Users to access social networks and maintain personal interests

• Providing cleaning services in accordance with agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations and in line with accepted best practices

• Administering medication to service users once fully trained to do so

• Writing daily notes, reports, and records in line with deadlines

What skills do I need?

• To be a caring, understanding, and compassionate person

• Resilient and able to manage difficult behaviour at times, due to the nature of

some Service Users' presentations

• Good team player whilst being able to take initiative

• Good written and spoken English

• Excellent communication skills, as some Service Users will need support with

communication

• Ability to follow routines while managing ad-hoc tasks

• Willing to follow COVID-19 precautions on a daily basis

• Ability to cook simple meals and clean according to Infection Control policies

and procedures

• You have prior knowledge, education, experience, or understanding of mental

health issues, including lived experience

• You have an interest in and passion for helping people

• You have prior care home or healthcare experience, including any Health &

Social Care qualifications such as NVQ or Care Skills Certificate

• You speak another language as well as English - specifically Polish speakers

needed at present, but any language is a bonus.
