Tusla, the Child and Family Agency was established in 2014 and is responsible for a range of statutory functions including provision of child protection, alternative care, specified regulatory services and a range of family support services to enable its staff to make an important contribution to improve the wellbeing and outcomes for children living in Ireland. Tusla has commenced a major improvement programme with significant focus on Practice, Culture and Structure.

Tusla currently have responsibility for a budget in excess of €800m and deliver their services through circa 5,000 people in 350 locations across Ireland.

The Child and Family Agency has responsibility for the following range of services:

•Child Protection and Welfare

•Family Support

•Alternative Care

•Adoption

•Tusla Education Support Services (TESS)

•Domestic Sexual and General Based Violence (DSGBV)

•Children's Service Regulation

•Counselling and Therapeutic Supports

Entry Requirements

  • A recognised qualification as a Professionally Qualified Social Worker and professional registration in your country of practice

  • Eligible to apply for registration as a Professionally Qualified Social Worker with CORU, the Health & Social Care Professionals regulatory authority

  • Experience and an interest in working in children and families services

  • Experience and an interest in working in child protection

  • A full clean driver's licence is desirable

  • Police clearance

  • Professional approach to work

  • Flexibility in work practice

  • Excellent verbal and written English
