As a member of the Corporate Affairs team, you will work cross-functionally with Public Affairs and business teams to help drive a conversation around policy topics, devise specific communications materials and campaigns. As a global tech, fashion and retail company, with the ambition to have a net-positive impact for people and the planet, many of today’s public and regulatory debates are relevant to us. The role will help position our narrative and thought leadership on key topics in the media, the public, and PA stakeholders in the policy, society, and regulatory space.We're looking for an exceptional communicator who can easily get to the core of complex political and societal issues, identify opportunities and risks for us as a company, create and roll out convincing and tailored corporate stories.
· Create and execute a strategy for pan-European campaigns for press and stakeholders active in public debates that highlight Zalando’s contributions on a range of policy areas
· Work closely with the Zalando policy and legal teams to distill complex concepts into coherent and easy-to-understand communications material, including regular outreach to press around the company's position on policy updates and regulatory matters.
· Develop and maintain close relationships with key journalists and corporate influencers at EU and German level, as well as teams across Zalando.
· Plan events and campaigns that offer more transparency on our initiatives, business projects or recommendations to our community, users, and press.
· Experience with storytelling, proactive press outreach, and building relationships with journalists and stakeholders in the policy sector
· Experience with communicating on complex legal and policy-related topics; experience as on the record spokesperson
· Solid network of political journalists with focus on the EU level
· Familiarity with a range of policy areas, such as Privacy, AI, competition, platform regulation, financial services, consumer protection and sustainability.
· Demonstrated experience thinking strategically about complex issues and projects simultaneously, leading to thoughtful recommendations and action plans
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English (German a plus)
