We are seeking applications from suitably experienced psychiatrists. Your responsibilities will include assessment and treatment while working collaboratively with the primary health sector. You will have a strong commitment to service user and family inclusion in service delivery and a focus on recovery as well as having a sound understanding of and commitment to biculturalism. A personal commitment to maintaining high standards of practice and full participation in team functioning is pivotal to the position. Your ability to provide clinical leadership and medical input to the multi-disciplinary team is essential. About you

As a Consultant Psychiatrist with previous general adult experience in either an inpatient or community or older persons setting, you will have a personal commitment to maintaining high standards of practice and an unequivocal dedication to working as part of a team. Your ability to provide clinical leadership and reliable medical input to the multi-disciplinary team is pivotal to the position. You will have a strong commitment to service user and family / whanau inclusion in service delivery and a focus on recovery. You will also have a sound understanding and commitment to biculturalism. You will have a demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and providing training to students at all levels.

You will be required to participate on an on-call roster providing after hours coverage for the Southland region. Fellowship with the RANZCP or equivalent is essential, and you must be eligible for registration with the NZ Medical Council. A full driver’s licence is essential for this role.
