The role is focused on controlling the working environment in which the solution is developed in addition to providing high-level Agile leadership to the Solution Development Team. In accordance with the idea of empowerment, the Project Manager is expected to delegate to the members of the Solution Development Team the specific planning of the actual delivery of the product(s) while still coordinating all areas of project management at a high level. A facilitative management style, as opposed to a "command and control" style, is needed to lead an empowered team.
