We are hiring production technicians who have a great attention to detail, are experts at problem-solving, assembling simple and complex hardware systems in a Manufacturing/Prototype environment. We are looking for production technicians to work directly with our hardware team on the upfit of autonomous trucks.
In this role, you will
Support truck upfit following engineering documentation for hardware and electrical systems
Work as a Production Technician building TuSimple’s self-driving vehicles - this Includes vehicle build, sub-assembly and harness assembly installation.
Candidates must learn documentation practices.
Work closely with Hardware Engineering and associated teams.
Follow safety standards and meet internal deadlines.
Work with limited supervision
This role is critical to successful manufacture of our products
Work continuously in prolonged physically demanding postures
Workers must climb, bend, stoop, crawl, and stand for prolonged periods on concrete or metal surfaces
Occasionally, may lift and carry items that weigh up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds) with mechanical lifting devices or assistance from other workers, if required
Hot environment (typically around 90 degrees F) in the summer months
Perform task prioritization
Learn to set up and assemble parts
Demonstrate proper use of simple hand and machine tools
Learn to accurately read and follow procedures, routing and other work instructions
Required Qualifications
Minimum (0-5) years of indirect experience in automotive, trucking, or other low volume custom/production arenas
Experience with Jira, Confluence, ERP, PLM, CAD, and various other software tools a plus
Must possess good communication skills
Learn electrical skills, ability to read wiring schematics and layouts, and assemble wiring harnesses
Learn to problem-solve, diagnose, analyze and isolate problems
Able to work in a team environment
Use of hand tools, power tools and material handling equipment while performing duties
Perform technical tasks based on detailed written or verbal instructions
Perform entry level troubleshooting or modification of hardware and fixtures.
Maintain materials, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition
