As Product Counsel, you will embed into high-impact product initiatives for our products and features. You will work hand-in-hand with cross-functional stakeholders on product development teams as a dedicated legal resource who will provide agile and practical legal counsel so the team can effectively and responsibly navigate a range of legal and regulatory frameworks. As Legal Counsel, you will also work with other areas of the Company with corporate and commercial legal issues, being the single point of contact of external law firms whom the company works with.
Advise multiple stakeholders across product throughout the product development cycle (from the initial stages of product development, through launch, to market strategy) by identifying and driving resolution of issues related to privacy, data security, marketing, competition, intellectual property, artificial intelligence and other legal areas.
Support business development and partnership management on all commercial deals, being a proactive business partner helping to close the deal, make sure our company interests are protected and provide term sheets to leadership teams for approval.
Providing accurate, relevant, and timely day-to-day and strategic advice to the Leadership Team and other stakeholders across the Company on a variety of legal topics (commercial, corporate, internationalization, M&A, fundraising, …).
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts and agreements.
Managing and mitigating legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures.
Ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations that apply to the business.
Promoting legal compliance and risk management best practices throughout the company, designing and delivering legal training across the business.
Communicating with and managing any third-party bodies such as external law firms, being the SPoC.
Staying up-to-date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules and regulations that directly affect the company's business and specific industries.
Providing advice to the leadership team and Board of Directors on the Company's strategic corporate topics (internationalization, funding, investors relationship, M&A, etc.)
Demonstrate at least 5 years of experience as a commercial lawyer working in-house or in a leading firm.
Experience in digital product companies.
Experience with the following areas: commercial and corporate laws on an international scope.
Proficiency in at least two the following areas: product, intellectual property, privacy and artificial intelligence.
Strong legal research skills and comfort in tackling new and developing areas of law in Europe and internationally.
The ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships across the Company.
Enthusiasm and passion for technology and business.
Proficiency in writing legal documents in perfect English.
Good organizational, prioritization and time-management skills.
Arbitration and mediation skills
Excellent negotiating and drafting skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
