To assist analytics, machine learning, and operations, our team creates data processing pipelines for a variety of use cases. Data engineering, where sound engineering may be merged with difficult computational difficulties to provide effective data processing at scale, is one of the most fascinating subspecialties of software engineering, in our opinion. Drive the development and architecture of robust and scalable data processing tools, processes and infrastructure at N26.
Work closely with data analysts, data scientists and other teams within the company to solve problems that require data.
Look for opportunities to make internal processes better by leveraging our data infrastructure.
Background:
At least 7 years of experience in Data Engineering, DWH or related fields.
Experience in a start-up environment is a plus.
Skills:
Strong knowledge and experience with some distributed data processing technology like Redshift / BigQuery / Snowflake / Spark or similar.
Excellent understanding of data warehouse architectures.
Proven experience in data modeling and data warehouse design.
Proven experience in ETL data pipelines design, implementation and maintenance.
Excellent knowledge of SQL and approaches to query optimization.
Excellent knowledge of software engineering practices and hands-on experience designing production-level Python code.
Experience working with Cloud-Native technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools is a plus (preferable Terraform).
Experience with Kubernetes is a plus.
Ability to define new and challenge existing best practices for data processing and architecture.
Experience in mentoring other data engineers and knowledge sharing.
Ability to drive tech initiatives independently - from idea to implementation.
