As a Privacy Counsel, you will contribute to our overall compliance program while supporting members’ experience. You will counsel and provide legal support to all our Teams globally. You’ll work closely with the organisation's senior management as well as Security, Engineering, Product, Community Relations and Marketing teams.

As a support of our Senior Privacy Counsel and Data Protection Officer, you will be deeply involved in ensuring that BlaBlaCar’s services are crafted, built and maintained in a way that aligns with applicable privacy obligations around the world.

Your responsibilities
 
  • Contribute to our privacy program by ensuring the updates and the continuous improvements of the existing accountability documentation (registers, PIA, privacy policies,...);

  • Contribute to the assessment of third party suppliers and negotiate Data Processing Agreements with various external stakeholders;

  • Collaborate with teams across BlaBlaCar to help designing new features consistent with relevant laws and regulations, provide data protection advice and support to operational teams;

  • Design and deliver training plans to promote a culture of data protection compliance across all parts of BlaBlaCar;

  • Draft, implement and communicate policies, processes and templates related to BlaBlaCar’s data protection practices;

  • Be part of the security incident response team to evaluate the security events and examine potential data breaches;

  • Act as a partner for other in-house counsels on all kinds of data protection matters;

  • Collaborate with internal partners to respond to requests from regulators, law enforcement and customers;

  • Analyze new or upcoming data protection laws, data protection authorities guidelines and priorities and its impacts on our business.

Your qualifications
 

  • Master 2 degree with a specialization in Data Privacy Laws;

  • 1st experience in privacy/data protection law experience at a top tier law firm, in-house or in a Data Protection Authority (including internships);

  • Willingness to understand a technology-driven businesses;

  • Capacity to communicate concisely and to collaborate across all functions;

  • You’re humble and you enjoy sharing & learning from others;

  • You have a results-driven and impact-oriented mindset;

  • Fluency in English
