e are looking for a Junior Equity Analyst - Software to join our team in Berlin. Your responsibilities will be split between supporting our Senior Technology Analyst in the research of enterprise software companies and supporting the Director of Research and the broader team with coordination and assistance. This role offers a unique opportunity to get hands-on experience with our overall research processes while growing into an Equity Analyst with coverage in software areas such as SaaS and Cloud. This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to transition from an Engineering or Tech-role into a Finance role. We offer Visa sponsorship and relocation support.

Your job responsibilities will be:

  • Support senior analysts in bottom-up fundamental research in innovative software/technology companies worldwide, with a clear goal to grow into a senior role with your own coverage in Software over time

  • Perform financial modelling and valuation that accurately reflect qualitative and quantitative views, and use innovative data sources to understand and forecast company KPIs

  • Contribute to idea generation, news and data monitoring, and participate in calls and events with experts and management teams within the software space, proactively identifying and calling out opportunities for alpha generation

YOUR PROFILE

  • Strong academic track record; Ideally in Software or engineering with clear willingness to move into finance/equity research. Alternatively, strong academic background in finance/banking with add-on qualifications/expertise in software or engineering

  • Very strong organizational skills and extremely reliable; high skills with Excel and productivity tools are required; previous experience owning operational processes preferred

  • Good financial modelling skills and basic understanding of company accounting - preferably CFA level 1/2

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (fluent in English; additional languages are an asset)

  • Ideally, some experience in equity research/portfolio management/operations or investment banking, and familiarity with main tools like Bloomberg and Capital IQ
