Healthcare Assistants are needed to work on our international fleet of cruise ships, and we are hiring. Healthcare assistants play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service standards by serving as the medical department's initial point of contact with visitors and workers.
The Healthcare Assistant role includes both clinical and non-clinical tasks and competencies, including but not limited to the following:
Provide clinical and administrative work under the supervision of other medical staff.
Provide reception desk and patient interface, schedule appointments, follow-ups, and patient check-in services.
Assist with basic patient triage and vital signs.
Assist medical staff with specimen collection and laboratory tests
Assist patients with daily living activities care.
Assist with patient education and vaccination campaigns.
Collaborate in maintaining inventory levels and checking equipment functionality.
Assist with patient documentation by securing, collecting, filing, reporting, and transmitting information electronically or physically.
Participate in medical training and ship safety drills within their assigned roles.
Support audits, inspections, and public health monitoring by ensuring accurate and complete documentation and reports.
Uphold the company’s core values and the best customer service standards.
Participate in shipboard training and competency programs to learn new skills.
Qualifications: Healthcare Assistant, LVN, LPN, Nurse Assistant, Enrolled Nurse, Emergency Medical Technician, or any qualification above those.
Experience and background: at least two years of practice in any accepted qualification roles, with current or recent experience.
Basic Life Support certification is obligatory before joining a vessel and should remain valid throughout the employment.
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential; other languages are an asset.
Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft 365 in the Windows operating system are essential.
Electronic Health Records experience and proficiency are essential.
Personality: outstanding interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills; ability to work cohesively in a small, diverse team.
A valid passport
Eligibility to be issued a United States C1/D Visa (not applicable for US and Canadian citizens)
