The team requires someone who is detail-oriented, with excellent communication, time management, and organization skills, with the ability to make independent decisions regarding the best way to handle and prioritize tasks. The candidate will be collaborating and working in tandem with both Capital Formation and Sales Team to ensure alignment across the teams. The candidate must have the highest integrity, respect for confidentiality, demonstrate good judgment and the ability to work well in a team. The IR Analyst is expected to be resourceful, reliable, credible and a team player.
Responsibilities within the Capital Formation Team include but are not limited to:
SUPPORT FUNCTION
Coordinate schedules with external and internal participants along with logistics for investor conferences, meetings and other related events.
Ensure all prospect and existing-LP meetings/calls/etc. are copied to the IR team calendar (and also captured in Salesforce)
Ensure all prospects and existing Sales meetings/calls/etc are in Salesforce
Preparing weekly and monthly reports for the Capital Formation Team
Preparing presentations to a range of prospective clients.
Coordinating sales efforts with the Capital Formation Team
Ability to answer client questions about all Techstars products.
Coordinate and assist with scheduling of Annual General Meeting, LPAC meetings and other limited partner related events. Help support material creation for these events, as needed.
Invoices, expenses & credit card charges – review, scan, and approve invoices for Accounts Payable to process in a timely fashion.
Create document file storage system to improve efficiency
Update and maintain the data room (s)
Organize and maintain the Capital Formation team shared file system; organize/archive old materials and ensure current materials are present
Drive discipline across the entire Capital Team to ensure consistency
Save and share press related to Techstars to Capital Formation team, including any LP/investor-related news and allocations
MARKETING & INVESTOR RELATIONS FUNCTION
Marketing materials
Update and maintain presentations, one-pagers, due diligence questionnaires and other investor-related materials. Help create bespoke materials, as necessary. Ensure consistency and accuracy across the entire suite of materials
Coordinate with Finance Team to ensure timely turn-around on investor-related requests and any updated information that the Capital Formation Team may need
Coordinate with Legal Team for sign off
Facilitate distribution of investor materials
Collect investor and investment information and support to prepare quarterly, yearly and ad-hoc communications to investors
Provide organizational, analytical and logistical assistance for investor activities related to prospecting and pipelining (Preqin and other databases, as appropriate)
Prepare deliverables for investor calls and meetings including but not limited to:
Track board relationships for HNW and other high profile LPs
Track government-related entities
Dossiers and company descriptions for client meetings (gather critical data and account information for briefing materials):
History of Techstars relationship
Identify other potential touchpoints using LinkedIn, Affinity and other contact sources
PDF, watermark and track marketing materials and offering documents
Develop, update and maintain investor relations database in Salesforce
Add contacts (historical, new or additional) to Salesforce
Add events (calls, meetings, events etc. both old and new) to Salesforce
Add investor notes (old and new) to Salesforce. Ensure meeting and call activities/notes are posted to Salesforce in a timely fashion
Evaluate and track prospective investor opportunities across funds via Salesforce
Assist with pipeline reporting and distribute to team as needed for weekly sales meetings
Work with Finance team to ensure account information is updated in Salesforce
Ensure consistency and accuracy of information across Techstars systems
Assist with any ad-hoc requests including:
Supporting ongoing sales, investor relations, service and communications efforts
Working with internal stakeholders (Finance, Legal, etc.) to field any requests and coordinate meetings
2 – 5 years’ experience in a comparable support role, preferably in sales and marketing at an asset manager with private placement products
Working knowledge of the financial markets and asset management, preferably with some knowledge of private equity, growth equity and/or venture capital
Strong oral and written communication skills
Very organized with strong attention to detail
Self-starter who responds promptly to internal and external requests
Ability to multitask
Someone who can think analytically and critically to ensure high quality and efficient output without sacrificing standards
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook, and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Salesforce (or other CRM) experience a positive but not a requirement
A positive, “can-do”, and energetic attitude is a MUST!
