HR MANAGER, IN SHEFFIELD | RELOCATE TO THE UK WITH WORK VISA SPONSORSHIP

In this role, you will effectively manage all HR operations for your area(s) of Studio responsibility, including the line management of the Senior HR Advisor/HR Advisor(s). Ensure an efficient support service is delivered to the business whilst delivering against key initiatives to support the achievement of the HR strategy. The HR Manager will partner with Studio / Department Management teams to identify, scope and implement commercial and pragmatic HR solutions in response to business needs as well as provide HR expertise, advice and management information to line management as required. This role can be based in any of our UK studios or be based remotely with national travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the HR Leadership team to create, successfully implement and continually review the HR Strategy.

  • Partner with key stakeholders to devise and implement relevant people plans to ensure everyone is aligned in its vision.

  • Lead the delivery of Group-wide HR initiatives and processes within your areas of Studio responsibility, in accordance with the time frames and budgets specified, including organisational and policy changes, performance review and promotions, succession planning and annual compensation reviews.

  • In partnership with HRMs, maintain and continue to grow a high-performing, efficient, professional HR operational service, driving a culture of process improvement and continuous development.

  • Partnering with Studio Directors and management teams to support delivery of studio/departmental strategic plans.

  • Provide confidential advice, support and guidance to senior studio/departmental stakeholders on the application of core HR policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; contracts & amendments, all types of absence, disciplinary, performance/capability and grievance issues, flexible working and restructures, ensuring you are up to date with current employment law and best practice.

  • Lead the proactive management and resolution of employee relations issues.

  • Collaborate with the Group payroll function monthly to ensure accurate and timely payroll completion for your area(s) of Studio responsibility.

  • Take responsibility for leading and/or supporting a range of HR projects, to include reacting to legislative changes, employee engagement initiatives and retention activities.

  • Working collaboratively with HR Managers, to ensure the HR function is legally compliant in all areas of responsibility. Ensure all HR policies and processes are regularly reviewed and communicated, to continue to reflect both up-to-date employment law and best practice.

  • Work with the Head of L&D, and contribute to discussions on training, development and succession planning across the employee population within your area of responsibility.

  • Work with the Global Mobility Manager, to ensure visa compliance, right to work and employee transfer opportunities overseas.

  • Support M&A activity as required.

  • Provide support to the wider HR leadership team & ensure they are kept up to date will all matters of relevance/importance.

  • Identify areas of improvement, opportunity and innovation and discuss with wider HR leadership team. Facilitate and support the implementation of change as necessary.

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the wider HR team, sharing knowledge, learning and experiences.

  • Provide cover when necessary for other members of the HR team.

  • Any other duties as required within the Job Holder’s capabilities

Key Requirements
  • Minimum Level 7 CIPD Qualified (or equivalent experience)

  • Significant Generalist HR experience at a Senior level from within a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong knowledge of HR legislation and its application.

  • MS Office Experience – Word/Excel/Powerpoint/Outlook.

  • HR/Payroll Systems Experience.

  • Games industry interest/knowledge/experience an advantage.

  • Use a factual objective approach to decision-making, focusing on the real problem and the outcome needed. Be able to think on your feet, spot issues pro-actively and react appropriately to issues. Consider all stakeholder perspectives whilst calculating business risk. Make necessary and good quality decisions even when they are difficult and/or with limited information and/or under time pressure.

  • Display strong verbal and written communication skills, have the ability to confidently question & challenge the business where necessary, equally able to show diplomacy and empathy. Be able to listen well and actively demonstrate understanding.

  • Be able to effectively explain and justify reasonings.
