The Polishing Department is accountable for the quality and control of all Polishing Department activities, ensuring compliance to best practice. The person is also responsible for driving change and improvement via the identification of continuous improvement projects. TSS Sponsorship is available to outstanding candidate.
Spray polishing of timber furniture.
Use of timber stains and paints, including; sealing, staining, top coating and sanding.
Colour matching.
Spray finishes including Sealing, undercoats and finishing coats in both clear and solid 2 pack polyurethane on a variety of surfaces
Mixing paints.
Preparation of timber.
Use of single pack & pre-catalyzed lacquers.
Use of spray booth & factory equipment.
Assist in transferring furniture throughout the factory to painting areas, where they are prepared and painted.
Sanding and preparation.
Utilizes industrial paint spraying equipment, as well as any other necessary tools.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work space while carrying out a job.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Polishing Co-Ordinator.
Actively communicate with department staff and management regarding company related information and issues to support sound decision making.
Maintenance and Cleaning of spray booth and equipment as per company requirements and perform preventative maintenance systems.
Ensure timely work order closures.
Maintain machinery and equipment and maintenance programs.
Maximize production efficiency at all times. This includes job times, quality and workflows.
Liaise with all other department team members.

Minimum experience of 2 years
