We are looking for a seasoned Director of Communication and Public Affairs to build a rock start team from scratch for an extremely successful tech startup. Reporting to the SVP Brand and Communication, we are looking for someone who wants to fundamentally change the way people think about temporary work. You will be able to play your entire media keyboard in 9+ markets (Europe, LATAM and the US), from strategic communication, internal communication to social media and public affairs. You develop a long-term communication strategy and simultaneously achieve visible and measurable results at a galloping pace.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a rockstar Communication and Public Affairs team

  • Driving and executing a global communications strategy, building the company's reputation, increasing brand awareness, and elevating our thought leadership in the public arena

  • Heading all external media relations with regards to our services and company (e.g. funding rounds, M&As, financial results, expansion), issues and crisis management and positioning of the executive leadership team

  • Develop a strong Social Media presence

  • Addressing our internal talent and global workers pool by developing a strong narrative and channels that addresses both groups (inform, enable and encourage)

  • Acting as a transparent and constructive mediator with policy-makers, including governments, regulators, third parties and academics on a range of policy issues

  • Partnering with the leadership team and local markets to support global and local communications as well as Public Affairs strategies and campaigns

  • Building and developing meaningful relationships with the media

  • Work cross-functionally to help identify issues as they arise and shape the business' positioning

You are …

  • Weathered from storms at bustling press offices or demanding public affairs roles, with at least 8 years under your belt.

  • A strong thought leader and experienced proactive communicator with a focus on crisis communication and Public Affairs/Public Policy

  • Comfortable managing complex communication scenarios, resolving public affairs issues and can provide a proven track record of navigating high-stake situations

  • An exceptional writer and have a true passion for storytelling and prose. You show the ability to build and execute communication strategies across different media

  • A passionate leader with experience in managing a global communications team

  • Well established in the technology and business arena, bringing an existing and extensive network of media contacts

  • Intellectual firepower that can mediate complex issues eloquently and effectively

  • Detail-oriented and thorough; you’re a proactive self-starter who is able to juggle multiple projects in a highly fluid work environment

  • Fluent and confident in English, both spoken and written. Fluency or strong proficiency in additional languages is highly appreciated

  • Open-minded about travel and enjoy the dynamic and mobile nature of this position based in an European time zone and able to travel frequently. This role is key to success for Jobandtalent and therefore we place great importance on your mobility.
