A well designed and executed Continuous Integration platform serves a critical need for the company to iterate fast with high confidence. As the company grows, the need for the ability to continuously build, test and release grows with it. In this role, you will be part of a software engineering team to develop and support the Continuous Integration platform that supports multiple products, ranging from truck softwares to microservices. You will work closely with algorithm and engineering leadership teams to build the future of fast iterations. You will also work closely with test teams to identify opportunities to collect test metrics within the pipelines.

Example projects

  • Develop a seamless continuous integration pipeline to build a single C++ library or application all the way through testing in an integrated environment, which is composed of hundreds of C++ libraries and applications.

  • Investigate and create an approach for incremental builds using the pipelines to build and release large scale C++ applications.

  • Implement pipelines to build, test and release microservices to on-prem or cloud providers.

  • Support test team requirements to collect test metrics as part of the pipelines.

  • Research and design the next platform for continuous integration, e.g. GitHub Actions.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Implement shared Jenkins pipeline libraries to drive the build and release process across the company.

  • Develop build strategy to build the packages with high velocity and confidence.

  • Create integration between continuous integration tools with other internal tools and 3rd party tools (e.g. Slack) to accelerate developer productivity.

  • Develop full stack services on top of Jenkins and other toolchains to enhance developer productivity and confidence.

  • Track metrics and logs in the pipelines and tools to understand usage, predict abnormal activity and help troubleshooting.

  • Define guidelines, standard and governance for CI/CD operations and engineering practices.

  • Work with team members to plan features, breakdown tasks and deliver results. Proactively communicate and properly document for knowledge sharing.

  • Contribute to the growth of a high performing engineering team with engineering excellence in mind. Value extreme ownership, craftsmanship, simplicity, trust and growth mindset. .

Experience & Skills Required

  • At least 2 years of industrial experience as a software engineer.

  • Solid understanding of source code management and continuous integration best practices.

  • Experience with managing continuous integration pipelines or developing continuous integration products.

  • Experience with developing Jenkins scripted pipelines using Groovy.

  • Experience with developing and maintaining full stack microservices.

  • Experience with cloud services, such as AWS.

  • Experience with devops.

  • Experience with structured logging & metrics.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical degree.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with one of the modern frontend frameworks, e.g. Vue.js, React, Angular, etc..

  • Experience with one of the modern web application frameworks, e.g. Flask, Express, MVC, etc

  • Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, Dynamodb, MongoDB.

  • Experience with Python.

  • Experience with C++.

  • Experience working with autonomous driving technology.
