We are on a mission to reinvent the way people shop for grocery, pharmacy and retail products. As an exciting new vertical within Careem (a startup within a startup), we’re in the early stages of building our product and have plenty of interesting and fundamental challenges to solve in order to achieve our ambitious growth goals in this burgeoning space.
What you'll do
As a data Analyst you will be responsible for:
Build and manage business performance dashboards and report on various business issues to relevant stakeholders providing appropriate analysis and conclusions
Produce and distribute reports to relevant internal parties analyzing data and highlighting key areas of interest
Manage work streams and small projects autonomously in a cross-functional environment
Support the data analytics process by developing reports, queries and data pipelines that can lead to add new data sources or new views in our data
Work with the central Data science and analytics teams to develop and implement effective reporting using various BI and assessment tools to minimize risk and proactively identify problem areas
What you'll need
The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging data to improve businesses and solve problems, and has an insane focus on excellence, and a strong alignment with our core values: being bold, focused, agile and collaborative. Additional qualifications include:
3+ years experience working with data and conducting full-fledged analyses
Ability to derive solid and straight forward hypotheses and conclusions from the data and to present it in a structured and clear way
Ability to get hands-on in a complex operational environment
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines
Strong analytical skills and passionate to work with large sets of data
Must be process oriented and a logical thinker with a good attention to detail
Ability to effectively troubleshoot problems and work collaboratively within a team environment
Ability to write SQL queries against large amounts of data and highly desirable to have experience building data pipelines
Experience working with multiple Business Intelligence tools, building reports and dashboards
Passionate about learning new technologies and working on a product of massive scale and impact
Ideal background to include BS in Data Science and MS in business or a similar background with the mix of both skills
Experience working within the technology industry/start-up environment is highly desirable

Even though we are working remotely, we are strong believers in collaboration and the power of building social connections with our teams. For that reason, our offices are still open and provide plenty of collaboration-friendly spaces at times when teams need it or if you need a quiet space to work outside of home.
You’ll be working in the location you’re hired from. Due to legal and compensation considerations, you will need to be based out of the country you’re hired from as your primary work location.
