CRYPTO ECONOMIST | REMOTE

We're looking for a Crypto enthusiast to join the team here to conduct research for trending topics in the cryptocurrency

• Find, collect and analyze relevant data, perform economic studies, visualise and present findings, etc

• Reasoning through the emerging trends in the financial and crypto spaces and identifying new opportunities

• Follow all relevant DeFi and crypto protocols

• Responsible for compiling reports for internal and external publication

• Familiarity with smart contract analysis tools and their usage

• Ownership of liaison with external research partners including media and academia to grow our presence as an industry leader

• Work closely with others on the crypto-economic model, smart contracts security and other issues surrounding software and protocol

• Gather, analyse and blend data to produce business and economic insights, and give recommendations on how to further improve

• Develop models of how crypto drives economic and societal benefit

• Be an advocate for a data-driven culture, share thought leadership on tools and best practices

• Solid understanding of smart contracts, cryptography, crypto-economics, and blockchain technology

• Sharp analytical abilities including the ability to spot emerging trends and technologies

• Ability to find the right sources of information needed to understand a particular project or topic

• Ability to aggregate information from a variety of sources including technical repositories and anecdotal feedback from teams, then draw informed conclusions from incomplete information

• Able to explain complex concepts in simple terms to a non-technical audience

• Obsession with the future of blockchain technology, web3, and low-level protocol development

• An open-minded research approach and genuine intellectual curiosity

• Quantitative skills, comfortable with pulling, manipulating, and extracting insights from data

• Excellent leaderships skills in a wider operational context

• Collaborative approach, ensuring the team builds relationships in a remote environment

• Strong communication skills with a variety of stakeholders

• Self-motivated

• Previous experience in an Economist capacity

• Significant experience in research, finance, cryptocurrencies, consulting or related fields

• Proven leadership experience in a tech scale-up

• Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
