The successful candidate will be a real 'doer', happy to get their hands dirty in the day to day operations while also keeping an eye on broader strategy, spotting opportunities for refinement and growth. They will be as confident and experienced in financial modelling and management as they are in negotiating commercial contracts and have an interest in broadening their role across wider business operations, from hiring plans to people management.
At Do Nation, we're on a mission to help millions of people take meaningful climate action. Through our online platform, we help people to form healthy, environmentally friendly habits, both at home and at work.
We strongly believe in the potential of our unique model to create a wide-scale, meaningful impact on one of the most critical issues of our time, and we're hungry to deliver on that.
Our team has grown from two to 18 over the last 18 months, fuelled by organic customer demand. We're now looking for an impact-driven operations lead to help us continue scaling our impact in the most sustainable way possible.
As Do Nation's team and client base grows and diversifies, we're looking for help in running the day to day operations of Do Nation - in particular around financial management, team culture and people policies and recruitment, and procurement.
The role offers great potential for growth and personal development.
Developing and managing financial controls and processes, including preparing monthly management accounts, Board and Investor financial reporting
Supporting a review of our pricing models and impact growth strategies
Oversight of day to day financial management including bookkeeping, preparing invoices, and processing payments
Coordinating our payroll and employee pension scheme
Supporting CEO in fundraising activities
Helping us to develop and execute our hiring plan through a rapid growth phase
Managing the recruiting process, including preparing and posting job adverts, shortlisting candidates, and helping with interviews
Managing the onboarding process for new team members and preparing detailed job descriptions and personal development plans
Helping us to build a collaborative, friendly, and productive team culture through organising team events and other initiatives
Managing holiday requests and employee volunteering days
Reviewing, iterating, and communicating our internal policies to the team
Navigating the procurement processes of our enterprise customers, working with our lawyers, Chief Information Security Officer, and Customer Success Manager.
Ensuring that our internal policies - from recruitment to GDPR - remain up to date and the teams' practices are compliant with legal and customer contracts.
Managing our B Corp Certification, striving to keep improving our B Corp Impact Assessment score collaboratively with the team
As a small team, it'll be a hands-on role, and you'll adapt to a broad mix of other tasks as required - whether that's supporting cyclists on our Cycle to COP26 or user testing new features.
The successful candidate should:
Be entrepreneurial, with a tendency to see challenges as opportunities to create new solutions
Enjoy getting stuck into detailed data modelling and manipulation using Excel or similar
Have experience managing B2B enterprise procurement processes, including contract negotiation and information security procedures.
Be able to pick things up quickly and - critically - see them through to completion
Be interested in professional development - your own, and that of your colleagues
Have high attention to detail and accuracy
Have an understanding of bookkeeping and accounting processes and requirements
Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high growth company, which often means adapting quickly to changing priorities.
Enjoy working remotely, and be happy to travel (when Covid allows) to quarterly team meetings across the UK or in Chamonix, France (ideally without the need to get on a plane).
Be energetic, highly motivated, with an enquiring mind
Be a clear communicator with good written and verbal English and strong interpersonal skills
Last but not least - you must be interested in and excited by the challenges and opportunities of sustainable living and sustainable business - this is our lifeblood.
Salary: up to £70,000
Holiday: 23 days + flexible bank holiday allowance + additional slow travel policy
Benefits: Home office allowance, professional coaching, L&D budget, co-working allowance, flexible working, two volunteering days per year
