The team is responsible for trialing new functionalities of OSP in eCommerce fulfillment, in-store fulfillment, logistics and supply chain to make sure everything works as expected before it’s released to clients. The team provides valuable feedback to product teams which is used to improve the OSP. As part of trialing the team fulfills live customer orders which means behaving as a real retailer to enable the full use of OSP. The team also provides an environment where everyone at Ocado Technology can improve their knowledge and interact with OSP.

What would I be doing?

At Ocado Technology we have teams who are responsible for building the software systems powering our next generation fulfilment centres, which are core to the Ocado Smart Platform.

Our software employs complex algorithms and business logic to schedule and coordinate the work of hundreds of people fulfilling customer orders. This includes receiving stock from suppliers, decanting and storing inventory, dealing with exceptions and picking and dispatching orders.

Efficiency and accuracy are at the centre of everything we do. Building the new technology platform to enable each of our sites, which run around the clock, to reach their 250,000 orders per week.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Support Analyst with a solid background in operational support and experience in knowledge management to work in our Ocado Smart Platform (OSP) Business Support team. Someone who can interface with operations and software development teams and yield valuable insights around the operational health and resilience of our systems and drive their continuous improvement.

Responsibilities will include…

• Developing a deep understanding of the business processes and data flows within our warehouses in order to more effectively perform the below;

• Analysing data from operational incidents (in office hours) and sharing insights on root-cause, symptoms, systems, etc;

• Helping identify and designing solutions to root causes of incidents, explaining their value, and pushing them through;

• Working with the team in estimation and review sessions.

• Proactively identifying and guiding the development of tools that will enable problem resolution for mission-critical services;

• Becoming an effective part of the support structure providing assistance to production issues, including fault finding and resolution;

We'd love to hear from you if you have...

• Experience with data warehousing

• Work well with others and actively contribute towards team objectives;

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, robust interaction with stakeholders and other members of the team;

• Proactive approach, demonstrate accountability and ownership;

• Working with relational databases and having experience with SQL;

It would be great but it's not essential if you have...

• Prior experience in a Business Analyst role or Support Analyst Role.

• Experience with Google Big Query and Google Data Studio;

• Experience with Tableau or other BI tool;

• Familiar with Python;

• Experience working with Agile methodologies and in Agile environments.

• Experience working with scripting languages and Linux OS.

• OSP Customer Fulfillment Centre domain knowledge;
